Brown County Action Team Initiative
In September 2005, the Tracy Family Foundation in conjunction with the University of Illinois Extension and the United Way of Brown County released a plan of action to improve Brown County. A “Call to Action” was issued to the community to work on the needs and recommendations identified in the 2005 Brown County Needs and Asset Report.
This synergy of efforts is known as the Brown County Action Team initiative. Five Action Teams have been formed to address needs in Brown County. Those teams are: Education, Housing & Economic Development, Community Betterment, Youth, and Health & Social Services.
We encourage and invite anyone and everyone to participate in this initiative. Teams meet the first Monday of each month at the Brown County Middle School cafeteria from 5:15 – 6:30 pm.
Accomplishments of the Teams and current activities may be viewed on the University of Illinois Extension–Adams/Brown website.
Please join in our efforts to make Brown County a magnet community in this region…a community that people of all ages will be drawn to live, work, raise a family, and grow older.
